Toy Story 2 was the moment I realised Pixar were going to be the biggest thing ever to happen to CGI animation: when the studio resisted calls to release a straight to DVD follow-up to the phenomenon that was Toy Story, and chose instead to go as high-quality as possible, they announced an enviable dedication to their films that other studios (including Disney) had noticeably neglected with their sequels.
