Predicting How 2020's Biggest Movies Will End

10. Steve Trevor Dies (Again) - Wonder Woman 1984

The first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 dropped recently, and though it confirmed that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) will indeed appear in the movie in the flesh, it didn't shed too much light on how he comes back from the dead.

Still, the trailer doesn't seem to contradict pre-release rumours that Diana (Gal Gadot) makes a deal with the villainous Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) - who may or may not in fact be Hades in disguise - in order to bring Steve back.

If that is the case, then it's not much of a leap to suggest that, when Diana inevitably defeats Lord, his influence over the world will evaporate, sending Steve back to the great unknown.

This should end the movie on a fittingly melancholic note, and give Diana a more personal farewell scene with Steve after he was blown to smithereens at the end of the previous film.

Given that bringing Steve back permanently would be a teensy bit silly - and further exacerbate the ever-present problem with stakes in superhero movies - it's a pretty tidy way to wipe the slate clean.
