Predicting The Post-Credits Scenes Of Every Major 2017 Comic-Book Movie

Prepare to watch a lot of credits this year...

Unless you work in a multiplex and have to endure the annoyance of everybody waiting behind well after a movie has properly ended, you probably look forward to post-credits scenes just as much as the films themselves.

Comic-book movies, in particular, carry the expectation of an Easter Egg, small plot development or throwaway tidbit either after the credits have fully rolled or even midway through them, and in this regard, 2017 is set to be an embarrassment of riches.

This year will see no less than six blockbuster comic-book movies punch, kick and fly their way onto our screens, with offerings from the three main players in this space - Warner Bros, Disney and Fox - spaced evenly throughout the year.

And that's a lot of post-credits goodness to look forward to, especially considering the next handful of years will feature Avengers: Infinity War, a Justice League sequel and another solo outing for Spider-Man. There's a lot of teasing and setup to be done!

So, from Logan in March all the way through to Justice League in November, let's discuss what each final stinger might contain...

6. Wolverine's Replacement (Logan)

Batman V Superman Darkseid
Fox

Release Date: March 3rd

Over the Christmas period a rumour popped up online that none other than Deadpool would be making an appearance in Logan's post-credits scene, but given how unusual and tonally jarring that would be, we're safely putting that to one side.

Instead, we believe the scene will focus on the future of the X-Men universe, without Hugh Jackman. Logan will be the last time the actor straps on the claws and since he's the franchise's most popular character (besides Deadpool), Fox will be looking for a replacement, fast.

To that end, the inclusion of the female version of Wolverine, X-23 (the young girl featured in Logan's trailer), is very much a future-proofing move on the part of the studio. We don't think she'll sprout her claws fully during the course of the main feature, though; we think that'll be saved for the very last scene...

The Prediction: We see X-23 standing over Logan's grave, or Logan's corpse, or something that is meant to represent the old, now-ended Hugh Jackman era of X-Men movies. X-23 contemplates whatever's in front of her, before turning her back on it and walking away.

The camera focuses on her hands as she walks, and slowly but surely, the claws begin to pop out, and the scene cuts to black as they hit their peak. A little cheesy? Possibly. A clear message? Definitely.
