RottenTomatoes Score: 92% (7.8/10)

Box Office: James Franco's $10 million tragi-comedy has almost doubled its budget propelled by The Room's eminent cult appeal, ironically proving far more financially successful than the infamous film on which it was based.

Verdict: James Franco gives a stunningly chameleonic performance as Tommy Wiseau in this hysterically funny docudrama about The Room's creation, which doesn't merely settle for mocking its focal subject, but actually chips away to discover the human being underneath.

Dave Franco is also terrific as Greg Sestero and there are fun supporting roles for the likes of Seth Rogen, Paul Scheer, Ari Graynor, Zac Efron and Josh Hutcherson, alongside some mind-blowingly spot-on recreations of classic scenes from the original movie.

It'll probably do little for the uninitiated, but if you "love" The Room, this is one of the year's most absurdly entertaining and unexpectedly heartfelt films.
