20. Robin Hood

Box Office: As just about everybody expected, the $100 million tentpole is on track to be the year's biggest box office bomb, having grossed barely $25 million to date. When it's all said and done, it probably won't even crack half its price tag.

Verdict: Yet another lousy attempt to modernise a beloved legend, Robin Hood is memorable only for Ben Mendelsohn's gloriously scenery-devouring performance. Otherwise it's a flat, noisy, visually repulsive and soul-sappingly generic offering.

Nobody asked for this, but luckily for star Taron Egerton - who gives a curiously charmless performance - nobody will remember this tosh for long.
