Ranking September 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

17. The Vault

The Vault James Franco
FilmRise

RottenTomatoes Score: 26% (4.2/10)

Box Office: Having made barely $80,000 at the speciality box office, it's safe to say this James Franco-led thriller is going nowhere.

Verdict: An intermittently intriguing thriller that fails to make the most of James Franco's presence, The Vault ultimately succumbs to its litany of genre cliches and hilariously predictable "surprises".

Though it does try to do a few things different with the formula of the heist film, this is ultimately a mess of half-formed ideas, and while hard to call forgettable, it really feels like a missed opportunity to turn the genre on its head.

This one's strictly for Franco enthusiasts, sadly.
