19. Mitch Buchannon - Baywatch

Filling David Hasselhoff's shoes was always going to be a tough effort, but casting the mountain of charisma that is Dwayne Johnson was at least a damn inspired idea. On paper, anyway.

A shame it is, then, that Johnson's talents were largely wasted on a mediocre action-comedy which relied way too much on the inherent charms of Johnson and Zac Efron, while the script gave them so, so little to work with.

Johnson looks the part and tries his hardest to charm-up the naff, lazy script, but even his efforts can't elevate his protagonist beyond being disappointingly bland and, worst of all, weirdly forgettable. Hoff did it better.
