Reign Of The Supermen Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

A solid conclusion to The Death of Superman.

The latest entry into the DC Animated Movie Universe serves as a follow-up to last summer's middling animated offering The Death of Superman, which gave a so-so treatment to one of the Man of Steel's most iconic comic book arcs.

It's mostly a pleasure to report, then, that Reign of the Supermen is a more consistent sequel-of-sorts, mostly delivering on the larger-than-life expectations of its action-packed source material, bar a few of the usual issues plaguing Warner Bros./DC animated films.

Whether you're a fan of the comic or haven't ever glanced at it, there's a compelling, well-crafted (and shamelessly silly) story at the core here, which takes yet another step away from some of the more problematic issues which have plagued DC animated films from recent years.

Even if you weren't left totally satisfied by The Death of Superman, this improved follow-up may well be worth your time, as long as you're prepared to embrace its out-there, heightened superhero shenanigans...
