Riddick: Watch The New Trailer Here

The Riddick-ulous (sorry) new trailer for the upcoming Vin Diesel vehicle Riddick has landed, the third installment in the franchise following the excellent Pitch Black and wildly underwhelming The Chronicles of Riddick. This time it seems that Riddick has been left for dead on a desolate planet, and has to fight for survival against not just an array of alien creatures, but also a gang of bounty hunters keen on collecting his corpse. The key appeal to many of this sequel will be that it returns to the R-rated origins of the unlikely franchise, which should hopefully restore the violence and language that helped make the original film such a vivid, fun B-movie. If there's anything it appears to have taken from Chronicles, it is the sense of scale; this looks like an, epic, big-scale, exciting movie, and if director David Twohy manages to pull it off, it will be all the more impressive given the modest $38 million budget. In addition to Diesel, the cast includes Karl Urban (returning from the previous film), Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff and WWE superstar and upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy star, Dave Bautista. So, what do you make of our glimpse of Riddick? Let us know in the comments below. Riddick is released in both the US and UK on September 6th.
