Robocop 2014: 5 Reasons Why You Should Be Excited

1.- The Director

jose padilha

Jose Padilha isn't new when it comes to make ultra-violent, yet compelling films about policemen with all the odds against them. Elite Squad 1 & 2 focus on the Special unit known as B.O.P.E., which are the ones who deal with the drug dealers in Brazil's infamous Favelas. Both films were praised by the critics because of the impressive way the director managed to deal with such a delicate subject, each character had its own story and they where very different from each other. The action scenes in both movies are very well created and visually they where spectacular, and the films didn't have such a big budget. Don't Believe me? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_11OqF3nsHM However there's one thing that still bugs me: A couple of months ago Total Film reported that the director was having a lot of troubles working on the film and that "for every ten ideas he has, nine are cut. Whatever he wants, he has to fight". Shortly after Padilha denied this rumors in a way that sounded a little bit like he was trying to pull himself out of trouble, but that statement still gave me some hope. My point is than Padilha is the man for the job. His films have great and deep story lines without loosing the focus on the action. I, for one, am very excited about the new Robocop film, and I'm pretty sure that he'll make a great job with the movie
