Roman Polanski's THE GHOST gets firm start date and adds Tom Wilkinson!

On February 4th in Berlin, Roman Polanski will begin filming his first movie since his adaptation of OLIVER TWIST in 2005. The movie will be THE GHOST, an adaptation of Robert Harris' much lauded political thriller revolving around a former Tony Blair-esque British prime minister who€™s holed up on an island writing his memoirs when his aide drowns, triggering political and sexual intrigue. Pierce Brosnan, having a pretty successful post-BOND career so far will play the PM. Ewan McGregor will play the ghost writer (previously it was set to be Nicolas Cage but he has proven to be too busy). Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Tom Wilkinson and John Belushi round out what is a very intriguing cast according to Variety. Summit Entertainment, who made a fortune on the TWILIGHT movie, have invested their new found funding wisely and are banking on Polanski to deliver. The book is on my MUST READ pile, I'm desperate to get into it before this movie hits. Love Polanski, a contemporary thriller from him is very exciting indeed.
