Ronda Rousey To Produce And Star In Her Own Film Biopic

My Fight/Your Fight to become a major motion picture.

Ronda Rousey, who crushed Bethe Correia this past weekend in just 34 seconds at UFC 190, has sold the rights to her autobiography, My Fight/Your Fight - and will both produce and star in the feature film adaptation. The property was picked up by Paramount Pictures, so this is likely to be a big deal. While she was clearly born to play the role, it's a big step up from smaller appearances in The Expendables 3, Furious 7, and the Entourage movie. While she also has the upcoming Mile 22 film with director Peter Berg, and The Athena Project further down the road, this will be the first time Rousey is front and centre in a film. Albeit a film about her life, a poor performance could tank the movie. It also remains to be seen how interested the public is in seeing Rousey's back story, given how much of it has already unfolded in front of cameras.
No timeline has been announced for the film as of yet. Rousey is likely to be fighting Miesha Tate sometime in December, which will make it a trilogy with "Cupcake" - the woman who Rousey won her belt from back in Strikeforce, prior to the promotion being merged into the UFC. After that, unless the formidable Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino drops down to bantamweight from the featherweight division in Invicta, Rousey may have a fair amount of time on her hands for film projects due to a serious lack of contenders in the UFC.
