Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper will leave women weak at the knee's after giving BLOWBACK!

Just over a year ago when Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper were battling it out for the Hal Jordan/Green Lantern role at Warner Bros, I mused that it would be a smart move for the studio to cast whomever was the unlucky runner-up as The Flash in a future tentpole. The reason? I have a sneaky suspicion (but with no evidence to prove it) that Reynolds and Cooper, the two male comedy giants of 2009 (The Hangover, The Proposal) will have that spark, that kinetic energy between two actors that's so rare - that thing we call chemistry. And the idea of a future Brave and the Bold movie featuring both actors as Lantern/Flash in a mini, entry-point to the wider spectrum of the DC Universe on Film just seemed so obvious to me. More obvious, and less problematic than a Batman/Superman or full on JLA team-up. Well... I'm not getting my Brave and the Bold movie, or Cooper as The Flash or even a Flash movie at all right now - but this ain't a bad runner-up. THR say Hollywood heartthrobs Reynolds and Cooper will make several generations of women weak at the knee's when they team up for a Lethal Weapon-style buddy cop actioner, based on an original idea from Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air). The film;
"follows two friends, who are also San Francisco cops, whose fathers were once partners on the police force. The older generation is forced out of retirement to help their sons crack a case, with typically antagonistic results."
Originally, Sheldon pitched the idea five years ago as 'Blowback' for Reynolds to team with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at Touchstone Pictures. This new attempt ain't setup at a studio just yet - though with Neil Mortiz producing, it'll probably find a home at Sony where he has Green Hornet housed. I expect it'll be a little while before it can film (maybe as much as 18 months) because Reynolds's schedule is bloated right now... but there's reasons to be excited in this concept. Even if every two-cop movie proclaims itself to be the new Lethal Weapon. Reynolds future:The Change-Up (a comedy with Jason Bateman which is next), then he has Deadpool, Green Lantern 2, R.I.P.D and Safe House (with Denzel Washington) all possibilites for next year.
