Ryan Reynolds Poses With Deadpool Mask And Gloves

"Sepia tone disguises the fact the mask is ballerina pink."

The sepia tone is hiding their deep red colour. Tim Miller's film gets shooting in Vancouver soon, for a US and UK release exactly one year from today. I didn't believe this film was ever going to happen, but it really, really is. Reynolds credits the internet's response to the leaked test reel for Fox's change of heart. But the studio - perhaps shrewdly - have still kept the budget relatively low for this kind of thing, so if the online fans can lead some kind of charge to cinemas and don't just pirate the hell out of the film it might do alright, and there could even be a sequel. But even if crashes at the box office, I'm sure Deadpool will be a bona fide cult hit. I read two drafts of the script, and they were pretty similar, each of them packed with irreverent asides, truly ostentatious action and a complete and total F-U attitude. They were certainly scripts for a Deadpool movie and not anything like the Wolverine Origins accident. Hats off to Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick for capturing the lunatic tone without - presumably - going completely crazy themselves.
