Spectre: Bond And (Not) Blofeld Hit The Cover Of Empire

"Oberhauser" rocks some serious velvet.

With just over a month until James Bond returns to cinemas in Spectre (hard to know whether or not to capitalise that these days), Empire Magazine have debuted their cover for the November 2015 issue (somewhat confusingly released alongside the film in October). The classically Bondian design features Daniel Craig - resplendent in one of Saville Row's finest suits - and Christoph Waltz's no doubt flamboyant villain in what appears to be a velvet version of Blofeld's iconic Nehru jacket. Obviously, we're all supposed to ignore the fact that absolutely everything about Oberhauser points to the fact that he is actually Blofeld in disguise, but some cynicism is entirely forgivable. Considering how packed with nostalgic elements and Easter Eggs the trailer was, you'd have to suspect it's more grand deception in the mould of the whole John Harrison/Khan situation in Star Trek Into Darkness. The magazine issue has been guest edited by Sam Mendes, and will be apparently packed with a significant amount of Bond material, including discussion with Christopher Nolan and David Fincher on Mendes' career. Are you excited to see Spectre? Follow all of our coverage for the latest Bond film here including our theory on why Christoph Waltz is definitely playing Blofeld.
