The ever-spinning web that is Spider-Man: Homecoming's cast continues to expand, with the film now adding Michael Chernus to the cast.

The Orange Is The New Black actor is going to be one of the film's villains, as he's been revealed to be playing The Tinkerer (as reported by Deadline).

The Tinkerer, real name Phineas Mason, dates all the way back to The Amazing Spider-Man #2, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962. While ostensibly running a radio repair shop, the character actually designs and builds gadgets and weapons for criminals and supervillains such as Mysterio and Scorpio.

At one point he does the same for Vulture, and that's where he'll seemingly fit into this film. Michael Keaton's Vulture is said to be very tech-heavy, and Deadline reports Chernus will be playing opposite him, so except the Trickster to be providing the movie's central villain with a few new gadgets to help him take down Spidey.

As well as Keaton, Chernus is joining a cast that includes (*deep breath*) Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, Zendaya, Kenneth Choi, and many, many more.

Directed by Jon Watts, with a script from John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Spider-Man: Homecoming is shaping up to be one of the biggest and funniest entries into the MCU so far, and is scheduled for release on 7 July next year.
