So that's why he's in the homemade suit...

With the new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer set to be unveiled today, CinemaCon attendees were given an early look, and some descriptions of the footage have appeared online.

The trailer offers a more in-depth look at Vulture - and establishes his pre-existing resentment for Tony Stark - as well as looking at the dynamic between Stark and Spider-Man and offering more of a look at Peter Parker at school.

On the Vulture front, there's very much a sense that Michael Keaton's Toomes is a self-appointed man of the people, fighting a class war against the upper class, represented by Tony Stark. “The rich and powerful like Stark — they don’t care about us,” he says.

Kevin Feige revealed at the event that the key to how they would introduce Peter Parker to the MCU relied on convincing the audience that he's been around the whole time. So maybe expect some flash-backs to go alongside the school-set scenes and those detailing him getting to grips with his new powers and the technology in his suit.

Speaking of which, the event offered an answer to why Spidey is seen wearing his home-made suit once more. It seems that one set-piece sees Parker making a mistake, only for Iron Man to turn up and save the day, before Stark berates the youngster and takes the new higher tech suit off him with the line "Can’t you just be a friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man?"

We're clearly going to see the split of Spider-Man's motivations in the film - not just the balancing act Peter Parker has to pull off to be a student and a superhero, but also Spidey's desire to be an Avenger versus his duty to his city. And Stark will be teaching Spidey a lesson by taking his suit as he "shouldn't need it to be Spider-Man."

Which is a little rich coming from actual Iron Man.
