Star Trek Beyond: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

Uhura...who?

The verdict is in! Star Trek Beyond is finally out, and while certainly not reaching the heights of the 2009 reboot, it's a rock solid entry into the franchise that remedies a lot of the issues people had with the previous film, Star Trek Into Darkness.

Arguably the best thing about the movie, which was co-written by Simon Pegg himself, is how much time it devotes to characterisation, resulting in some of the best dialogue-based interactions in the entire new Star Trek trilogy.

Sure, not everyone is as well-served as they could have been and there are some glaring omissions, but for the most part, Star Trek Beyond puts the human element first while flying closer to the tone of the original series.

From the heroes, to the villains, to the crucial supporting characters, here is every significant Star Trek Beyond character ranked from worst to best...

12. Commodore Paris (Shohreh Aghdashloo)

There was a lot of intrigue when it was revealed a few months ago that legendary, Oscar-nominated veteran actress Shohreh Aghdashloo had been added to the film in late re-shoots.

Many assumed this implied a substantial re-shaping of the end product and Aghdashloo would be involved in a major subplot, but sadly, this isn't the case at all.

She appears for just a few short scenes as Captain Kirk's superior and does very little of significance or worth remembering. Her screen time totals maybe three minutes, and feels like a gigantic waste of Aghdashloo's talents.

Seriously: why hire someone so terrific for such a throwaway part?
