Star Wars: 10 Things You Need To Know About Rogue One

9. It'll Probably Tie In With Star Wars: Rebels

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the animated TV series Star Wars: Rebels both occupy the period between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. They€™re also both heavily focused on the missions of the Rebel Alliance. Could the two stories intertwine at some stage, then? It seems like it€™s possible... €œAbsolutely, there€™s been conversation about it,€ Rebels producer Simon Kinberg said in April last year, before backtracking a little with a real world parallel. €œWe never meet the Chilean miners that are trapped in that mine,€ he said as an example, but €œwe know about it and the world reacts to it.€ That quote could be seen as suggesting that the characters in Rogue One and Rebels might just mention each other in passing, akin to Marvel moments like Scott Lang suggesting a phone call with the Avengers during Ant-Man. But, the following month, Lucasfilm hired Rogue One€™s scribe Gary Whitta to write at least one episode of Star Wars: Rebels. It€™s unclear if the episode will be in season 2 or 3, but it seems likely that it€™ll tie the two franchises directly together. Some people even think Felicity Jones€™ Rogue One character is secretly Sabine from Rebels.
