Star Wars: 10 Worst Crimes Committed In Its Name

9. Darth Vader's Long-Awaited Return

darth vader sith Prior to the 2005 release of Revenge of the Sith, one of the film's biggest selling points was rumors that we would get several minutes of Darth Vader in his original trilogy body armor. Those rumors proved to be true but others Star Wars fans at a Springfield, Illinois theater got to see classic Vader even before entering the theater. Around 9:15 that night, a man wearing a Vader mask walked into Springfield's Showplace Eight theater. Foregoing his Force choke powers, the man opted instead to shove an employee out of the way and run off with an undisclosed amount of money. Interestingly, the man in the costume didn't display a lightsaber or any other weapon. He also didn't intend to impose his Imperial wrath upon any other theatergoers that night, but was instead last seen running off into the woods. Since it's now been eight years since this story happened and there has been no update, it seems safe to say that he's very well trained in the dark side of the Force.
