Star Wars: 5 Awesome Reveals From The Disney D23 Expo (And 2 That Are Worrying)

Does anybody REALLY want a Star Wars theme park?

The annual Disney D23 Expo has been steadily growing in notoriety since its inception in 2009, but this year it exploded into a media frenzy. Maybe that was because major outlets have started to report on the festival with Comic-Con level coverage, or perhaps because it saw the debut of Captain America: Civil War footage that the leak-ready internet was cruelly denied, sparking much debate... Or maybe it's because this year there was a hell of a lot of Star Wars. Actually, yeah, it'll be that. Barely a couple of days after those exclusive stills and reveals from Entertainment Weekly all those involved with the future of Star Wars headed back to the Anaheim convention centre (where a few months before they held Star Wars Celebration), revealing lots of new information. Even though this was probably the most slight event in terms of The Force Awakens content so far (Star Wars Celebration brought us the second teaser and that impressive behind-the-scenes reel was premiered at Comic-Con), there was still a lot to pour over, with the vast future of the franchise laid out in all its glory. But, unlike some previous announcements, it's not all perfect stuff. A couple of the announcements this past weekend rang hollow, betraying the thus far fan-centric focus of the Saga's continued development or otherwise undeserving of such wide-reaching press coverage. Here's a breakdown of the good... and, sadly, the bad.
