Star Wars 7: 20 Pieces Of Concept Art You Need To See

Early looks at new planets, familiar friends and terrifying villains.

It's been over fifteen years since Lucas disappointed the world with Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. After the 'mixed' reaction that the Star Wars prequel trilogy received, it seemed unlikely that we'd ever be getting any more main entries in the series. Now, with Star Wars Episode VII recent wrapping up production, we can only hope that JJ Abrams knows what he's doing. Set around 30 years after the defeat of the Empire, Star Wars Episode VII will focus on an a new trio of young lead characters, while still featuring most of the main characters and actors from the originals. Due to release on December 18 next year, details regarding the film have been typically scarce. This list takes a look at 20 leaked pieces of concept art, many of which give a great deal of insight into what we might be seeing from Episode VII. From the return of old friends to first-time looks at new villains, each of these entries are unmissable for Star Wars fans.

20. The Return Of Chewbacca

Note Chewie's bionic arm - perhaps gained after vicious fighting following the Emperor's defeat? Either way, it's good to see the hairy fella still rocking his bowcaster.
