Star Wars 7: 6 Reasons That Adam Driver Will Be Jacen Solo

5. The Next Generation Of Skywalkers

Regardless of whatever direction the Star Wars spinoff films take, it's important to understand that the episodic films will always be about the Skywalker lineage. With it being strongly believed that the original characters of Han, Leia and Luke will be returning for at least Episode VII, it would make sense that the rest of the trilogy will be about their children. Within the context of the EU, Han and Leia have three children named Jacen and Jaina who are twins and a younger son named Anakin. Luke would also marry a character from the EU named Mara Jade and they would go on to have a son of their own named Ben. With the original cast members ranging in their 50s to 70s, they'd be hard pressed to carry the full load of all the expected action that will occur. That's not at all to doubt the magic of CGI lightsaber battles with an older Mark Hamill, Star Wars has always been a story about youthful characters caught up in galactic conflicts. It's no surprise that we've heard about loads of casting rumors surrounding young actors for potential long term commitments. Most importantly, you have to remember that the prequel trilogy is about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker. The original trilogy is about the temptation of Luke Skywalker and the redemption of his father. The sequel trilogy will be about the next generation of Skywalkers and their struggle with the idea of who their grandfather was the darkness that dwells in their heritage, and in that respect, Driver's character will be the one from the Skywalker lineage who falls to the temptation of the Dark Side just like his grandfather.
