Star Wars Episode VII: 5 British Locations Perfect For The Movie

star wars rocks It has been announced that J. J. 'Emperor of Stars' Abrams and his crew will be filming in Britain for the newest Star Wars film - the imaginatively titled 'Episode VII' - so we thought it was about time to take a moment to think about this beautiful country and come up with some ideal shooting locations. Britain has ever been a popular place for sci-fi and fantasy film directors to consider filming in. Peter Jackson once thought Scotland would be an ideal replacement for New Zealand when trouble hit the Hobbit Trilogy about half way through pre production. As New Zealand is essentially Scotland on speed aesthetically it was a very good choice. The rolling, lush, windswept fields of Ireland have also played double for the Stormlands of Westeross (among others) in Game of Thrones but where are the most iconically beautiful or alien locations in Great Britain? Where will the places be that offer the most to the cinematography of the greatest series in the Galaxy? We don't know but we have some good suggestions...
