4. Power Vacuum on Tatooine
At the climax of the Han-heist section in Return of the Jedi Luke and the gang quite thoroughly eradicate Mob-leader, Jabba the Hutt and his entire posse. The Hutts ran the criminal syndicates with slimy, iron fists and immense power like that attracts no end of wannabes and scoundrels. An interesting and creative plot could be written about the grisly assortment of characters who fancy themselves the next leader of crime in the furthest reaches of the Galaxy. Since it has been announced that the trio of heroes from the original trilogy are set to return it is likely that this sequel trilogy will be set quite a while after the fall of the second Death Star. Consequently it is safe to assume that any conflict over the coveted position of Jabbas successor will be over but it would make an interesting story for one of the spin-off films. Perhaps the one about a man deeply involved in illegal activity on Tatooine, Boba Fett himself.
