Star Wars Episode VIII: 9 Subtle Clues In The Force Awakens You Missed

It will fin... er, continue what Episode VII started.

The first set photos from Star Wars Episode VIII have landed, bringing us new aliens and crashing speedsters, which means that the countdown to its December 2017 release is very much on, even if it does still seem so far, far away. All we really know about the film is that it's going to pick things up at the point The Force Awakens ended, with the meeting between Rey and Luke Skywalker, and that it has a pretty big job on its hands. After all, it has to continue the overarching story, as well as the character arcs of the likes of Finn and Poe, and follow-up the second biggest movie of all-time (Titanic only passed $2 billion on rerelease). No pressure then, Rian Johnson. Thankfully, an awful lot has already been put in place and mapped out better than a path to Ahch-To. We've been introduced to the key new characters, and have at least an understanding of their motivations and the directions they're headed in, while the lines between the Resistance and the First Order have been clearly drawn. But while we know to expect the battle between the Light and the Dark to continue, and the film to delve deeper into Rey's backstory and her connection to Luke, what else can we expect? Understandably not much is known about Episode VIII yet, but delving back into The Force Awakens, there are plenty of clues as to what will come next.
