Star Wars: Episode VIII - Predicting The Entire Plot In 11 Steps

11. Opening Credits; Finn & Poe On A Mission To Track Down Lando Calrissian

Once the iconic opening credits have rolled out into space, we hone in on a ship being piloted by none other than Poe Dameron (and BB-8). Finn is also on board, riding shotgun and now recovered from the injuries he sustained in Episode VII. The pair are being crazily pursued by several space pirates as they enter the atmosphere of an unknown planet. "What do they want with us?!" cries Finn. "The First Order has put a price on the entire Resistance's heads. Every pirate and bounty hunter this side of the galaxy wants us dead." "This Calrissian guy better be worth all the trouble," Finn deadpans. "He's an old friend of the General's," Poe tells him. "He will be." Poe employs a few aces manoeuvres and tricks two of the space pirates into crashing into one another, but the last pirate manages to get a shot in and - typical of Poe and Finn's relationship - their ship begins to go down. Poe manages to pull the ship into an emergency landing, and the two emerge from the incident in one piece. "Where now?" asks Finn. Notes: Months after the destruction of Starkiller Base, General Leia Organa sends Poe and Dameron on a mission to track down Lando Calrissian in the hope that the news of Han Solo's death will inspire him to join the Resistance. This would be a good way to reintroduce Lando into the story (and coincidences with the rumour that Billy Dee Williams will return, as the character has clearly been estranged from the others for years).
