Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Fears Alleviated By The Teaser Trailer

10. It Doesn't Look Too Lens Flare-y

The Fear: J.J. Abrams would lens flare the heck out of the movie. Why The Teaser Eased That Fear: Okay, so let's just get this one out of the way now. J.J. Abrams is famous for a lot of things, including TV's Lost and Mission: Impossible III, but - somewhat bizarrely - the one thing that seems to have overshadowed his career is, well, the guy's love of lens flare, which is that thing you see in films where light reflects off of the camera and creates this sort of immense, blinding sheen. Abrams got a lot of flack for his overuse of lens flare in the likes of Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, which had lots of Star Wars fans rightfully worried that the director would cover their beloved Star Wars with the same aesthetic embellishment, but the teaser eases most fears in this regard, given that a bunch of shots that could have been very lens flare-y are anything but. Phew.
