Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Major Plot Theories You Need To Know

6. Rey Is Luke's Daughter No.2 - His Theme During The Kylo Battle

Hands-down, one of the biggest crowd-pop moments in TFA comes when Rey snatches Luke's lightsaber out the snow and stands ready to do battle against Kylo. The familiar theme that soars when she fires up the weapon is Luke's own from across the original trilogy, and it's worth pointing out that although this tends to be identified as a 'Star Wars theme' alongside Vader's Imperial March, it's a character-specific piece of music that lends more weight to Rey's familial ties. There are quite a few variations on this main piece of music - and it does tie into the overall 'Star Wars theme' everyone knows and loves so well - however, Episode VII is devoid of hardly any uses of the original score, and as this Luke-specific piece roars into life when she grabs his lightsaber, it simply has to mean something.
