Star Wars: The High Republic - 10 Things The New Saga Must Include

What do you want to see from the next Star Wars era?

The Skywalker Saga may have only just wrapped up in December, but it seems as though Lucasfilm is already pursuing Star Wars' next big era.

According to rumour, the studio is looking to take the franchise to a previously unseen era. It's also likely that Star Wars will attempt to adopt the model of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than releasing films in trilogies with the occasional spin-off thrown in for good measure, as has previously been the case.

The High Republic is looking like it will be set 400 years before the events of the first prequel film, The Phantom Menace, and so there is an opportunity to create a new story that will exist completely out of the events that took place in the original saga.

But while some fans are unsure whether or not the new film will completely leave the original saga alone and really branch off that much, others remain hopeful that even if it doesn't, we could finally see the answers to some niggling questions that fans have had for decades about the Star Wars Universe.

It's a brand new era for Star Wars, and with talk of Disney taking a multifaceted approach to the new era - combining films, TV shows, games, comics and novels to tell one whole story - there should hopefully be something there for all Star Wars fans to enjoy.

10. Yoda In His Prime

Master Yoda's wisdom was present throughout most of the films in the main saga, and now we have Baby Yoda stealing our hearts on screen in The Mandalorian, so who wouldn't want to get a look at a Yoda in the prime of his life?

Yoda is 900 years old at the time of his death in Return of the Jedi, and The High Republic will take 400 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, so this will mean Yoda will be about 464 when the events of the new saga take place - at least as long as those rumours prove correct.

Now not much is actually known about how Yoda's species age, but this would logically put him in the middle of his life span, and we could possibly see him as an ordinary Jedi Knight at this point in his life. The potential to further explore his backstory and his incredibly powerful force-sensitive species could even be the focus of a new film.
