Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 10 Predictions For The Biggest Ever Twist

9. Finn Is A Double Agent

The Theory

Despite appearing to be an Empire defector, The Last Jedi could see Finn reveal his true colours: he was trained for this moment from childhood and implanted into the Resistance as a First Order double agent to bring the leadership down from the inside. In other words, he's the real villain.

Star Wars has a thing about duplicitous identities, and it would be a fairly big deal for nice guy Finn to turn out to be a conniving, Machiavellian baddie, particularly if he kills some key Resistance figures on his way out.

And when you think about it, him being in deep cover makes more sense than a soldier trained from birth to think in a singularly Empire sort of way suddenly shaking off his conditioning at the first sight of real action.

Would It Be Shocking Enough?

Probably not. In the grand scheme of things, Finn being a bad guy would be a pretty big shock, but it's not up there with the revelations of the first trilogy. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be great writing though.
