15. Who Are Rey's Parents?

This is, in many respects, 'The Big One', and yet there's also the chance it might not matter much at all. Mystery has surrounded Rey ever since the character was first revealed, and only intensified with The Force Awakens.

Is she a Skywalker? Is she a Kenobi? Or is she a nobody?

The first is the most widely guessed, and would help explain her Jedi powers and connection to Luke, but could be too obvious. A Kenobi would be an interesting take, but again, maybe it's looking for something that doesn't need to be there. She could just be the daughter of two randoms, which would be a fresh take, yet a surprising one in a franchise so concerned with lineage.

There are a myriad of questions surrounding her past - who left her on Jakku? Was she at the Jedi Academy? What's the link with Kylo? - but they're all wrapped up in the enigma of her parentage.

But, then, will it even matter? She is clearly a powerful Force user, and may be the one to bring balance to it, and that should be more important than where she comes from.
