8. Ghosts Of The Past
Kylo Ren is placed right at the heart of this trailer, with it both opening and closing on shots of the-man-formerly-known-as Ben Solo.
One of the key themes his character has to deal with is the weight of the past, both in living up to it but also escaping it, which is something we see play out in this trailer (he smashes his Vader-esque mask, and seemingly contemplates killing his own mother).
However, it also ensures to draw further parallels between Kylo and his grandfather, such as in this pair of shots. Above, the Master of the Knights of Ren leads troopers through a passage in Crait, while below Anakin Skywalker leads the 501st Legions into a Jedi Temple.
We also see this reflected in their piloting skills: Kylo's new TIE Silencer clearly takes some inspiration from Vader's, while we see him spinning around in it too, another callback to ol' grandpa.
