Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Is "Different" But "Very Satisfying"

And will further explore Rey's parentage...

Even though she's currently doing the rounds promoting her new film Ophelia, Daisy Ridley has inevitably found herself talking just as much about 2019's Star Wars instalment, the new trilogy-capper Rise of Skywalker. After acknowledging that The Last Jedi was rather divisive in the fandom (putting it lightly), the actor has promised that the sequel will make amends, and deliver a satisfying conclusion to a saga decades in the making.

Speaking to a reporter, Ridley was asked to rate how happy fans will be with the upcoming film, to which she replied:

"I think very satisfied. Everything we were doing felt, in the moment, very good."

Even though it would be bad practice for them to say anything else, it does seem that everyone involved with the J.J. Abrams-helmed project has enjoyed their time on set, with emotional goodbyes and stories being revealed about how positive the experience was, and how good everyone both in front of and behind the camera feels about the anticipated sequel.

Ridley herself spoke to USA Today earlier in the month, promising that Rey's parentage will be further explored in Rise of Skywalker, as well as discussing the differences in genre and tone the sequel will have:

"Genre-wise, it’s different from the other two, which will become clear when the film comes out. It's quite emotional. There's a different drive than the previous two films, but there's a lot of fun."

Of course, nobody could have predicted the backlash to The Last Jedi before it came out, so Ridley's promise that The Rise of Skywalker will satisfy everyone might prove false come December - but then it wouldn't be Star Wars if everyone agreed, would it?
