Suicide Squad: Ike Barinholtz Teases His Mystery Role

Apparently his character isn't an ideal dinner guest.

Most of the key players in David Ayer's Suicide Squad have been established, but little bits of mystery still linger around individual cast members. One such is comedian Ike Barinholtz, who currently occupies an unspecified role. Barinholtz, known chiefly for his work on The Mindy Project, had the following to say about his character:
"I can tell you my character in that movie is someone you would not want at your house for dinner. He€™s a very troubled human being."
Given the movie's about a group of demented, criminal renegades that's not a massive clue, but it does suggest Barinholtz probably isn't a good guy. But then, who are the good guys in this thing? Suicide Squad is definitely a step away from Barinholtz's usual fare. You've probably seen him in Mindy, Bad Neighbours or if you're really lucky, maybe you caught him during his stint on MadTv (where he did the best Dane Cook impression). All of those roles are very set in broad comedy, which isn't the tone Suicide Squad is establishing with its promotional materials. That said, Barinholtz did hint the movie might not be quite as dour as the trailer suggests:
"Will Smith is a very funny guy, Jai Courtney is actually a very funny guy, Margot Robbie is actually funny, so I think there is going to be some moments in that that actually make people laugh."
So maybe the whole thing's a bundle of giggles? We'll find out when Suicide Squad opens 5th August 2016.
