3. Annabelle Wallis' Totally Pointless Role

Tag Annabelle Wallis
Warner Bros.

The Mummy's Annabelle Wallis appears in the film as a Wall Street Journal journalist who gets roped into covering the game of tag after her interview with Bob (Jon Hamm) is interrupted.

The character is basically an audience surrogate, asking questions and allowing characters to get expository dialogue across, but honestly, she just ends up feeling out of place and totally unnecessary.

It doesn't help that Wallis' performance is pretty flat and humourless: the British actress' attempt at an American accent sounds garbled and unconvincing at almost all times.

There are countless scenes where it's easy to forget she's even around, and so she could've been cut completely without affecting the overall movie much at all.
