Terminator 2 3D Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

2. The Colour Grading Will Divide Fans

When the first trailer for T2 3D was released, there was a lot of hand-wringing over how the movie has been colour graded for this new release, with Cameron re-collaborating with original cinematographer Adam Greenberg to re-time the colours from scratch.

For starters, the image has been brightened significantly in order to compensate for the darkening effect of the 3D glasses, and while the final theatrical scenes largely don't look as cyan-tinted as they do in the recent trailers, it's still worth knowing that the early hospital scenes in particular are looking a little too blue for their own good.

These aesthetic changes are going to generate varied responses among fans, with some not even noticing while others will deem them pure sacrilege, but it's definitely worth preparing yourself for the colour palette looking different in places.
