The Avengers UK Release: What Did You Think?

We want to hear your thoughts on the culmination of this five-year journey. Does The Avengers live up to our enormous expectations?

Marvel Studios and Joss Whedon's The Avengers (or Avengers Assemble over here) was finally released in the UK yesterday, the culmination of a five year journey that started with Iron Man's release* all the way back in 2008 when The Avengers narrative path was clearly paved down by the post-credits scene featuring Samuel L. Jackson. Since then we've seen four further movies; The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger to get us to this point, a journey that has been a little rocky with at least two of those movies being particularly mediocre, but I saw The Avengers last week and it was more than worth the journey. If you haven't seen The Avengers yet then you really need to drop everything this weekend and visit your local multiplex. But for those smart readers who have, we want to hear your thoughts below. With 2008's The Incredible Hulk officially existing in the same universe as Hulk, despite the complete overhaul of the cast and crew and technically being a sequel AND a reboot, the seeds of The Avengers goes all the way back to 2003.
