The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Neglected Plot Lines That Should Have Been Developed

catomw It's been over a year since The Dark Knight Rises was released and whether or not it was a good film is still a topic of discussion even to this day. The film doesn't have anything that would be considered bad (in fact it's one of the best films of 2012) however when comparing it to the other two films in the franchise it's surely the weakest one in the whole trilogy. What made Batman Begins unique was that it took the concept of Batman to another level: It made Batman much more realistic, it turned him into a badass ninja and it gave him some of the coolest gadgets ever to be featured in a Batman movie and taking one of the (let's face it) weakest villains and turning him into a cool mentor for Bruce Wayne. The Dark Knight it's definitely the best film in the whole trilogy, it took all the things that made Batman Begins an incredible movie to the max. With the Joker we had a story that went everywhere because of how unpredictable the Joker was, but that's not it. It also featured the peak of Gotham's fight against the organized crime, which indirectly unleashed the events of the movie. On the other hand we have The Dark Knight Rises, which had a very basic story with some characters that should've been introduced (or at least mentioned) in previous movies and while the ending wasn't bad, the execution it had was very sloppy, especially coming from a director like Christopher Nolan. It wasn't the ending a franchise like this deserved. It had so many opportunities to step up the challenge and story from The Dark Knight and turn it into the best movie of the trilogy, however it didn't explore all the possibilities that the story offered. How different would the film had been if they had decided to explore some of them? Quite different, actually.
