The Devil All The Time Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

While cinemas the world over find themselves struggling to lure audiences back, streaming services have been going from strength to strength, and none more so than Netflix, which fortunately had literally dozens of films in the can by early 2020.

The streaming giant's latest major release is this star-studded adaptation of Donald Ray Pollock's 2011 thriller novel The Devil All the Time, helmed by a filmmaker with a noted taste for the lurid, Antonio Campos (Afterschool, Simon Killer, Christine).

While it's fair to say that the film's unflinching depictions of murder and worse aren't for the faint of stomach, this is easily one of Netflix's strongest Originals released this year, an uncompromising, gorgeous, and brilliantly-acted plunge down a very dark rabbit hole.

Behold Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson like you've never seen them before in this twisted tale of murder and revenge, all of which revolves around Holland's troubled protagonist Arvin Russell, a young man attempting to combat the evil which descends upon his family.
