The Joker Origin Movie Could Shoot In 2018

We almost have a finished script!

It sounds like The Joker origin movie is tumbling on at pace, and it won't be too long until it starts filming. According to Variety film reporter Justin Kroll (on Twitter), the script for the film "will be turned in by next week," which suggests a hell of a writing pace.

Kroll says that it's all going "super fast", especially as the film was only announced a few weeks ago, and suggests it's likely that we'll see it shoot in 2018.

In other words, it surely can't be all that long until we hear who will be playing the new early version of Mr J for Hangover director Todd Phillips, who has written the script with 8 Mile's Scott Silver. We know it won't be Jared Leto, though, as the Joker flick will begin a roll-out of one-shot movies that won't link as directly to the other DCEU movies.

Warner Bros are allegedly keen on Leonardo DiCaprio - which would be awesome - and there's a lot to say about the idea of him playing a Scorsese-like crime boss in a new iteration of Gotham.
