The trailer opens with Tom Cruise dying in a plane crash after the Mummy's tomb is put on board. But even death can't stop Tom Cruise and he rises from the morgue. The trailer doesn't give enough information to say what this necessarily means, but he has some level of enhanced strength as the remainder of the trailer shows him being thrown around like a rag doll.

Resurrection was the primary focus of the 1932 Mummy film. Boris Karloff's character, Imhotep, spends the entire movie trying resurrect Princess Ankh-es-en-Amon, a past love. Imhotep believes that his dead lover has been reincarnated in the body of another woman and plans to bring her into the modern day with him with his powers.

Since the trailer reveals that resurrection will be a key aspect of this new movie, that common thread reveals that the story will have updated elements of the classic film's narrative. The effects may be on a grander scale, but we could be looking at another Mummy trying to resurrect a love from past life.
