8. Vagina Jokes Return
This is not the first time that director Shane Black has been involved with a Predator film.
He was an actor in the original 1987 film, as well as serving as an uncredited writer after John McTiernan lured him out into the jungle for production. Hus character, Hawkins, was dispatched of quickly but left a lasting mark. He spent the entirety of his time on screen attempting to make his fellow soldiers laugh by telling various poor jokes about his girlfriend's vagina. The jokes included such off-color classics as,
"I was going down on my girlfriend and said 'sheesh, you got a big pussy. Sheesh, you got a big pussy.' And she said, 'Why did you say that twice?' And I said 'I didn't. it was the echo.'"
Well it looks like Black has made sure to bring that back with him as well. In this trailer, when all of the veterans are gathered on a transport bus, the ever-funny Keegan-Michael Key gets to throw out his own one-liner about the female anatomy, saying
"If your mom's vagina were a videogame, it'd be rated E, for everyone."
This line is absolutely in poor taste, but that's the point. Hawkins' jokes were never funny, it was Billy and the rest of the crew's reactions to them that made them funny and the same can be said of the line here. But speaking of Billy...
