The race for box office glory

wild.jpg3 notable movies released this week, which is going to come out on top... if any! Disney's middle aged road movie Wild Hogs hits 3,287 cinema's and currently scores a terrible 15% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In all likelihood, this movie will top the charts, as in 2007 U.S. audiences have clearly shown us that they would rather see this shitty movies (see Norbit, Epic Movie) than something cinematically worthwhile. David Fincher's return to the big screen after a five year absence is set to run in 1,000 less cinema's. Zodiac is getting the biggest critical push of any new release this weekend with 86% fresh rating on but at well over 2 hours in length, it may but some people off. Black Snake Moan is the big outsider, only hitting 1,252 screens and will probably only attract a niche audience but Samuel L. Jackson is always a draw. Number 1 for the last two weeks has been Ghost Rider (which I should be seeing today!!) but with it's big taking of $82.2 million, is there enough people in the States who haven't seen it yet to keep it in first place??? We'll all know for sure by tomorrow night, but my money is on Wild Hogs unfortunately but I would love to be wrong. source - variety
