The Rock and Terence Stamp to Get Smart

johnson_1.jpgVariety are reporting that Terence Stamp and The Rock will be joining Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway in the comedy movie Get Smart. The Longest Yard director Peter Segal will be helming the flick. Get Smart is based on the 1965 Mel Brooks/Buck Henry series of the same name that ran for a total of 138 episodes. The show starred Don Adams (to be played by Steve Carell) as a bumbling secret agent who along with his female partner Agent 99 (to be played by Anne Hathaway) would solve cases usually because of luck rather than intelligence. The Rock will be playing the role of a newly created character known as Agent 23, whilst Stamp will be playing what is described only as the "evil leader". Great casting for this movie then, I'm liking the sound of it. The only movie I have seen The Rock in up to now was his first leading role in The Scorpion King, but even though he wasn't great in that, I just know the guy is really talented. Comedy, especially is something he could pull off great in his WWE days. Filming is set to begin next month, and wrap up sometime in July. source - variety, aintitcoolnews
