The Rock Wants To Be President of the United States?

Could Dwayne Johnson lay the smack down in the Whitehouse?

We've seen Governors and Presidents (Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger) emerge from the film world, and even a wrestler in Jesse 'The Body' Ventura became the Governor of Minnesota... so what odds of a genuine Hollywood leading man and one of the biggest wrestling superstars of all time getting into the Whitehouse? In a new interview, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has hinted to Movieline that politics may be his future calling card; "Right now the best way that I can impact the world is through entertainment. One day, and that day will come, I can impact the world through politics. The great news is that I am American, therefore I can become President." The Rock as a political candidate? Stranger things have happened, right? The interview with Moviefone delves into his new movie Journey 2 (which we reviewed HERE), the forthcoming G.I. Joe 2 and a number of other movies he has in the works, and of course his return to the WWE for this year's WrestleMania 28 main event against John Cena. Interestingly he also revealed that he got special intel on Osama Bin Laden's death before anyone else; "I got friends in high places and low places," he said. "It was a very interesting day. I knew the President was going to give his speech; I thought he was going to give it at a certain time and so I thought, "I think it's appropriate that I tweet 'I'm damn proud to be an American'" and keep it in that space without giving away too much information. And then I got a call saying, 'Now the President will give his speech in a couple of hours.' So we had about two hours of Rock tweets out there." So what about it folks...could you see yourself voting for The Rock into political office?
