The Snowman Review: 1 Up & 9 Downs

8. It's Stunningly Boring

You know what's worse than a movie merely being bad? A movie being boring as hell, and that's exactly what The Snowman is.

Unfolding with a glacial pace (pun intended), this chilly Scandinavian-styled thriller drowns itself in heaps and heaps of exposition, relayed through the most basic shot-reverse-shot dialogues between characters, typically with the actors struggling to muster much enthusiasm at all.

For a film about a serial killer slaughtering people in various gruesome ways, it's staggering how tedious the film is for the most part, telling us rather than showing us most of the time, to the point that you may find yourself nodding off before things come to a close.
