The States to get some Sunshine in July

71026-large.jpgIt was strange earlier this year when it was reported that Danny Boyle's latest film Sunshine was to be pushed back to September in the U.S, when it was still being released everywhere else in the world. I mean obviously it can't have been because the film wasn't completed, it must purely have been from a marketing point of view. The news Slash Film today is that Sunshine will be now be released on July 20th for you folks in the States and in a wide release no less. The movie will go up against two comedies, Hairspary and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry so although those two will certainly bag some money, it definitely has the chance of making an impact with a different kind of audience. I enjoyed two parts of Sunshine but the final act was a huge let down. You can read my review by clicking here, but be aware there could be spoilers.
