The Stormtroopers Of Star Wars: Rogue One Revealed

We've got Stormtroopers people!

It's not just Star Wars: The Force Awakens making headlines - The Mirror has uncovered our first look at Star Wars: Rogue One, currently undergoing principal photography in Elstree Studios London. Rogue One, the first Star Wars Anthology film, follows a group of rebel spies attempting to steal the Death Star plans. The story, of course, ties directly into the original trilogy (these are the same plans that helped Luke destroy the space station in A New Hope), with director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) promising something approaching a sci-fi espionage flick. The Mirror's image shows a rather exotic looking set, laid upon a foundation of sand and tropical fauna, with a ton of typically Star Wars looking hardware lying about. The only characters on show appear to be Stormtroopers, but its cool to see their traditional and iconic design upheld. As for what we're seeing, it's anybody's guess. Maybe the rebels go undercover as Imperials to extract the plans? That'd be a nice throwback to the 1977 original (that was Han and Luke's makeshift plan for saving Leia), which, as a matter of fact, was famously filmed at Elstree too. Of course we don't have to wait until Rogue One's December 2016 release for our return to a Galaxy far, far away, with The Force Awakens set for December this year.
