There WILL Be More Alien Movies After The Disney Fox Deal

Expect more Kingsman and Planet Of The Apes movies too!

Now that Disney own another big slice of the film industry, the question of what they're going to do with the Fox properties they've bought is bound to be a pretty pressing one.

We're all very focused on the Marvel rights they've bought back, inevitably, but Fox was about way more than mutants and Fantastic foursomes. TV IPs like The Simpsons and Family Guy and movie brands like Predator, Maze Runner, Kingsman, Planet Of The Apes and Alien are all potential money spinners, so it's inevitable they'll focus on building on those brands the same way they did with Star Wars.

Now, thanks to the company's appearance at CinemaCon, Disney have spoken about their plans for some of the franchises, with assurances that some key properties will see new movies in the near future. Well, a new Disney employee has, anyway.

Emma Watts, Vice Chair of 20th Century Fox Film, has promised that Fox "will continue to create new stories," specifically referencing franchises like Alien, Planet of the Apes, Kingsman, and Maze Runner. Alien is easily one of the company's blue chip commodities now, so it makes sense we'll see more there, but whether that would be a continuation of Ridley Scott's current David Saga remains to be seen.

And the promise of more Planet Of The Apes movies is very exciting considering how great that trilogy was. Let's hope the announcement of some active developments comes pretty soon...
